Sardar Khalid Ibrahim was born in Rawalakot but originally his roots go back to the famous Afghan tribe of Sadozai's, also known as Sudhans, the single largest tribe of 1.2 million men and women residents of the State of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Sardar Khalid Ibrahim is very well known for his rules and principles. He resigned from the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir on two separate occasions. After giving his recent resignation, on 8 January 2009, he stated that,
“I have voted in favor of the no-trust motion, but the new set-up has come into being with the help of those who describe Kashmiri militants as terrorists and say that India was never a threat to Pakistan. The new set-up has made a greater compromise on the Kashmir issue than the one that has been sent packing and I announce my resignation from the assembly”.
Khalid Ibrahim Khan had been considered the only upright politician in the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir and the above mentioned resignation made him even more popular among the energetic youth of Azad Kashmir, especially in district Poonch.
